Alan Aronson, a Partner in the Miami office of Akerman LLP, has over 30 years of experience representing clients in public and private securities transactions, mergers and acquisitions, venture capital transactions, advising broker-dealers and investment advisors, and providing counsel on corporate governance and compliance matters. Mr. Aronson has served as lead corporate and securities counsel to NYSE, Nasdaq, and OTC companies, is a FINRA-trained dispute resolutions arbitrator, and is a frequent lecturer on securities and corporate topics.

Mr. Aronson is the inaugural and current Chair of The Dade County Bar Association's Business Law Committee, a past Chair of the Corporations, Securities and Financial Services Committee of the Florida Bar's Business Law Section, and a past chair of The Florida Board of Bar Examiners.  He earned his B.A. from the State University of New York at Binghamton and his J.D. from the Northwestern University School of Law.

He is a co-author of Bloomberg BNA Corporate Practice Portfolio Series No. 94, The Florida Corporation: Legal Aspects of Organization and Operation.  This portfolio volume discusses the legal considerations in organizing and operating a corporation under Florida law. It also discusses the major areas of corporate practice, including formation, capitalization, reorganization, and dissolution of the corporation. The portfolio also devotes significant attention to the powers, rights, and liabilities of shareholders, directors, and officers. Issues involving foreign corporations doing business in Florida are discussed as well.
