Barbara Wheeling is serving as the Dean of the College of Business at Lander University. She previously served as Dean of the College of Business at Montana State University Billings and Associate Dean and Associate Professor of Accounting at Emporia State University in Kansas. She has a PhD in Accounting from the University of Alberta, in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.

Previously she served on the faculties of Montana State University-Billings, Colorado State University-Pueblo and Southern Utah University. She served at Montana State University Billings as Interim Associate Provost, Accreditation Liaison Officer to the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities, Assessment Coordinator for the university, and coordinator for AACSB accreditation for the College of Business. She has 14 years of experience teaching financial accounting courses. She had been involved in the efforts of the Farm Financial Standards Council to promote good practices in agricultural accounting for 12 years, previously serving as Vice-President and a member of the Technical Committee.

The textbook on agricultural accounting she authored (Introduction to Agricultural Accounting, Delmar Learning, August 2007) is being used by colleges and universities in the US and other countries.
