Robert E. Braun is a Partner with Jeffer Mangels Butler & Mitchell LLP (JMBM) in Los Angeles where his practice, spanning more than 30 years, focuses on corporate, finance, and securities law with an emphasis on emerging technologies, hospitality and business transactions. Mr. Braun represents clients in a variety of matters, including mergers, acquisitions, financing, franchising, licensing, joint ventures and strategic alliances, and other corporate transactions. His practice emphasizes new and emerging technologies, information technology, privacy and security, software development and licensing, and electronic commerce transactions. 

Mr. Braun received his A.B. from University of California, Berkeley and his J.D. from the University of California, Los Angeles School of Law.

He is a co-author of Bloomberg BNA Corporate Practice Portfolio Series No. 86, Records Retention for Enterprise Knowledge Management.  This portfolio volume explains how and why businesses should create, review, and/or update their records retention plans to comply with the needs for proper records management and regulatory requirements in today's world of electronic data.  It also discusses the reasons for records retention and how to implement a records retention plan, including doing so in the electronic age under the electronic discovery-related amendments to the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure. In addition, it examines how and when to implement litigation holds and the sanctions that could apply for spoliation.
