Cedric Burton

Cédric Burton is a partner in the Brussels office of Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati, where he assists companies on all facets of global and European privacy laws. His clients include industry leaders and start-ups of all sectors with a focus on technology and online services. Cédric regularly advises on topics such as behavioral advertising, big data, cloud computing, social networking, Internet of Things, mobile apps and devices, and other new technologies. Cédric also counsels clients on the upcoming EU data protection legal framework, and represents them before data protection authorities and the Article 29 Working Party. Earlier, Cédric was an associate at Hunton & Williams and worked as a research fellow in privacy at the CRIDS (University of Namur) and at the CLIP (Fordham University). Cédric is Belgian-qualified, CIPP/E and holds two LL.M. degrees, one in IP/IT from Fordham University and one in IT Law and Management from the University of Namur.
