A Senior Attorney with Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney PC, David A. Weintraub focuses his practice on a wide variety of tax controversy and litigation matters.

For more than 15 years, David has counseled his clients on issues involving real estate taxation, real estate investment trusts, tax-free exchanges, income tax accounting methods, partnership taxation, tax procedure and international taxation. He has represented clients before the Internal Revenue Service and the U.S. Tax Court.

Prior to joining Buchanan, David practiced as a tax lawyer for over 17 years and practiced for over 10 years as a certified public accountant at an accounting firm that offered financial planning and tax services. He assisted clients with various issues involving corporate, partnership and fiduciary taxation. He also gained experience representing clients before federal and state taxing authorities.

David is the co-author of the BNA Tax Management Portfolio Tax Court Litigation. He has co-authored several articles in the Journal of Taxation as well.
