Paul DeMuro is Of Counsel at Broad and Counsel and a member of the firm's Health Law Practice Group. He was previously Special Counsel with Schwabe, Williamson & Wyatt and a retired Partner with Latham & Watkins LLP where his practice focused on corporate, healthcare law and technology. Mr. DeMuro has practiced extensively in the areas of corporate transactions, accountable care organizations, clinical integration, healthcare antitrust associated with innovative structures and ventures, value-based purchasing, joint ventures, mergers and acquisitions (M&A), corporate organization, governance, finance, healthcare district law and regulatory compliance. He also practices in the areas of Medicare reimbursement, fraud and abuse, compliance and managed care.
Mr. DeMuro is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the American Medical Informatics Association, the Medical Group Management Association, and a Fellow in The American College of Medical Practice Executives, the Healthcare Financial Management Association, the Health Care Compliance Association, the American College of Healthcare Executives and the American Health Lawyers Association.
He earned a B.A. from the University of Maryland, a J.D. from Washington University in St. Louis, an M.B.A. from the University of California, Berkeley, and a Masters degree from the Oregon Health and Science University, School of Medicine.
Mr. DeMuro is a co-author of the Bloomberg BNA Health Law & Business Portfolio Series No. 2100, Health Care Mergers and Acquisitions: The Transactional Perspective.
