Dermot Gaffney is a Partner, Head of Indirect Tax in the Sydney, Australia office of KPMG. He has spent more than 35 years specializing in Indirect Tax, with more than 20 years at KPMG. Mr. Gaffney has worked on 3 continents, spending 12 years in the public sector and 23 in private practice. Prior to his current role, Mr. Gaffney served as a Partner in KPMG’s South Africa division as well as a Partner with KPMG Europe LLP.  Mr. Gaffney spent a year with Ernst & Young as a Senior Manager in Birmingham, United Kingdom and was also a Director at KPMG Stokes Kennedy Crowley in Dublin, Ireland. Dermot began his career in the private sector as a Tax Manager with Kieran Ryan & Company in Dublin, following a 12-year career as an Inspector of Taxes with the Revenue Commissioners in Dublin, Ireland.
