Donald Trump DID say climate change is a hoax. But even if he didn’t, would it matter?

Donald Trump attempted to back track on his climate change stance during last night’s presidential debate, denying that he ever called it a “hoax” perpetuated by the Chinese.

Here’s the thing: Trump did say that. Here’s the tweet that proves it.

Trump Tweet

But even if Trump hadn’t said that climate change was a hoax, it’s almost beside the point.

Donald Trump is now surrounding himself publicly largely with advisers who are skeptical of climate change. Take Kathleen Hartnett White, who is on the advisory board of a coalition that believes carbon dioxide emissions will have a net benefit for the environment. She is a member of Trump’s economic advisory council. Or even Myron Ebell, who is chairman of a group that is “focused on dispelling the myths of global warming.” He is set to lead Trump’s presidential transition team, according to reports.

So in sum, the tweet is real. But regardless, the people Trump has chosen as advisers believe climate change isn’t. And, at the end of the day, maybe personnel hires still say more than 140 characters.
