Melanie L. Fein is a former Senior Counsel to the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System. She maintains a law practice in Washington, D.C., encompassing the regulation of banks, bank holding companies, trust companies, securities broker-dealers, investment advisers and mutual funds.
Ms. Fein is the author of treatises on Federal Bank Holding Company Law and Securities Activities of Banks. She has taught financial institutions law at Yale Law School, Boston University Law School and the Columbus School of Law.
She earned her B.A. from Earlham College and a J.D. from Catholic University's Columbus School of Law.
Ms. Fein is the author of Bloomberg BNA Banking Practice Portfolio Series No. 430, Overview of the Dodd-Frank Act.
