Geithner Says Administration Weighing Support for Corporate Tax Reform

The Obama administration is looking at whether enough political support exists for a revenue-neutral reform of the corporate tax system, Treasury Secretary Geithner says. In remarks during a speech to the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies, Geithner says the administration wants to improve incentives for investing in the United States and make the tax code more competitive with other developed nations, but that any changes cannot result in a reduction in tax revenues. Geithner says some of the administration's focus is on ways for the country to create better incentives for research and development, education, investment, and public infrastructure.
