Harrison, Christopher

Christopher S. Harrison is a partner in the New York office, specializing in mergers and acquisitions in the financial industry and shareholder activist matters.

Last year, Mr. Harrison published Make the Deal: Negotiating Mergers & Acquisitions with Bloomberg Law; the book was published in hard copy by Wiley.  Make the Deal provides a lucid analysis of how M&A deal terms work and interrelate, and gives his readers a clear sense for the realities of M&A. The narrative includes a thorough market analysis for each deal point and shows through anecdotes and "war stories" – inspired by real-life transactions – what is at stake in a deal.  Bringing finance, business and law together, Make the Deal is an essential toolkit that will guide business and legal dealmakers through the economic ramifications of their deals, helping them bring new ideas to the negotiating table.

Marty Lipton, co-founder of Wachtell Lipton, calls Mr. Harrison a “highly regarded M&A practitioner" and his book a "very useful … sophisticated analysis.”

Tom Russo, the General Counsel of AIG calls the book a "practitioner's roadmap" that provides “clear and concise analysis … demystifies the complexity … [and] adds insight, current practice and state of the art to … negotiating an M&A deal.”

Mr. Harrison earned his J.D., cum laude, from New York University School of Law, where he concentrated on law and economics.  His undergraduate work focused on statistical analysis and behavioral economics.
