Hill Roundtable: Path to Reform Continues With GOP Bill Due This Week

Congressional Republicans expect to release a tax bill Nov. 1, and House leaders say they want to hold a vote by Thanksgiving.

In this edition of the Hill Roundtable podcast, Capitol Hill reporters Laura Davison, Kaustuv Basu, and Colleen Murphy walk through the process to be triggered once the bill is released, and what the legislation might include.

Ways and Means Committee markup of the bill will begin Nov. 6 and last for “multiple days,” Chairman Kevin Brady (R-Texas) said.

The Senate Finance Committee will mark up a tax bill the week of Nov. 13, according to Majority Whip John Cornyn (R-Texas).

Bloomberg Tax’s Capitol Hill reporters will provide listeners with commentary and analysis of the measure throughout the coming weeks.
