Scott A. Holt is a Partner with Young Conaway Stargatt & Taylor, LLP in Wilmington who helps companies ranging in size from Fortune 500 to start-ups meet the challenges of the modern workplace by developing practical solutions to meet their needs and to maintain compliance with federal and state laws. These laws include areas involving wrongful discharge, equal employment opportunity, trade secrets and covenants not to compete, executive compensation, wage and hour, privacy, disability, affirmative action, and the law involving collective action, strikes, unions, and collective bargaining.

Mr. Holt's judicial and administrative experience includes trying cases in numerous federal and state venues and acting as lead trial counsel in dozens of adversarial proceedings, trials, major arbitrations, and administrative actions. Many of these cases have been precedent setting under Delaware and federal law. Mr. Holt also has extensive class and collective action experience and has successfully defended nationwide claims.

He received his B.A., with honors, from Temple University, and his J.D., with honors, from Widener University School of Law.

Mr. Holt is a co-author of Bloomberg BNA Corporate Practice Portfolio Series No. 97, Noncompetition Agreements.  This portfolio volume discusses the importance of noncompetition agreements in today's global economy.  The portfolio also discusses the different transactions where noncompetition agreements should be used, the legitimate economic interests courts look for in enforcing agreements, the key terms found in noncompetition agreements, and the requirements for enforceability.
