Howard S. Engle, a retired partner with the Chicago office of Deloitte, has served as the Lead Client Service Partner and Advisory Partner for some of Deloitte’s largest and most complex clients including publicly held entities and private families. Prior to joining Deloitte in 2002,

Mr. Engle was a senior partner with Andersen and coordinated Andersen's international tax practices in the Midwest. Howard is Chair and Co-Founder of the Graduate Tax Program at the University of Illinois and a Visiting Lecturer in the College of Business.

He is a certified public accountant and a member of the American and Illinois Societies of Certified Public Accountants. He has served as a Trustee of the Deloitte Foundation and a member of the Board of the Center for Professional Responsibility in Business and Society at the University of Illinois.

 

He is a Trustee and Treasurer of the American Contract Bridge League Foundation. In addition, he previously served a two-year term as President of The Standard Club in Chicago.

In August 2012, Howard was appointed by Illinois Governor Pat Quinn to the State of Illinois Board of Examiners and currently serves as Chair.

Previously, he served as Chair of the Andersen Foundation, as President of the University of Illinois College of Business Alumni Board, as Chair of the Finance and Investments Committee of the Alumni Board and as Chair of the College of Business Advisory Council.
