Ms. Syrylo is a sole practitioner and former “Big 4” CPA firm partner, based in Baltimore. Her practice focuses on major aspects of multistate taxation, including income/franchise taxes, sales/use taxes, transfer taxes, personal and real property taxes, payroll and unemployment taxes, and unclaimed property reporting. She assists clients in compliance matters, tax planning to minimize expenses, merger and acquisition transactions, business structure, and representation of clients in tax audit and protest proceedings. She is respected as one of Maryland's premier tax practitioners. She was the originator of the Constitutional argument that was validated by the United States Supreme Court in its 2015 ruling in Comptroller of the Treasury v. Wynne regarding Maryland's taxation of interstate commerce income. She is co-chair of the Tax Policy Committee of the Maryland Chamber of Commerce, a member and former chair of the State Tax Committee of the Maryland Association of CPAs, and former member of several prior Maryland legislative study commissions. She is a frequent author and speaker on multistate tax topics. She is a licensed CPA in Maryland.
