Kurt Kawafuchi Esq.

Mr. Kawafuchi is owner of the Law Offices of Kurt Kawafuchi, LLLC, in Honolulu, Hawaii, where he advises clients in state and federal tax planning and estate planning, federal and state civil and criminal tax controversies and litigation before tax agencies, administrative boards, and federal and state trial and appellate courts. Formerly, Mr. Kawafuchi was the Director of Taxation at the State of Hawaii Department of Taxation and Supervisor of the Tax Division of the Department of Attorney General. He has taught International and State & Local Taxation, Estate and Gift Taxation, Partnership Taxation, Advanced Corporate Taxation, and Taxation of Entities as well as other taxation, law, finance, accounting, and estate planning courses at the University of Hawaii School of Law and Graduate School of Accounting and Hawaii Pacific University. Mr. Kawafuchi holds a Master of Laws in Taxation from Georgetown University, a Juris Doctor from the University of Santa Clara, a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Santa Clara and a Bachelor of Science from the University of Redlands. He is a member of the California and Hawaii bar association.
