Michael B. Lampert is a partner with the health care practice group at Ropes & Gray, practicing in the firm’s Boston office. He provides regulatory, transactional, and strategic advice to health care clients, including hospitals, universities, schools of medicine, medical device and pharmaceutical companies, laboratories, investors, physician practices, and emerging providers. He has extensive familiarity with fraud and abuse laws, in both an advisory and enforcement context, and other health care regulations such as the Food, Drug & Cosmetic Act, HIPAA, and Medicare reimbursement rules. Mr. Lampert also advises in mergers, acquisitions, restructurings, affiliations, and financings in both the for-profit and nonprofit context. He is a co-author of the American Health Lawyers Association’s Representing Hospitals and Health Systems Handbook (2016).

Mr. Lampert received his JD from the University of Virginia School of Law, where he was Order of the Coif and Editor of the Virginia Law Review; and an AB, summa cum laude, from Bowdoin College, Phi Beta Kappa. He is admitted to practice in Massachusetts.

Mr. Lampert is a co-author of Bloomberg BNA’s Health Law & Business Series Portfolio 2100, Health Care Mergers and Acquisitions: The Transactional Perspective, 2nd edition.
