Senior Counsel, Tax in the Helsinki office of Castrén & Snellman Attorneys Ltd. since 2008, Leena Romppainen specializes in tax law and corporate law. She is a well-recognized tax lawyer, with many years of experience of various aspects of tax law. In addition to tax law, she is also experienced in the fields of mergers and acquisitions, corporate law, and real estate law. Ms. Romppainen frequently provides specialized advice relating to structuring and financing in transactions from a tax perspective. She has advised numerous foreign and domestic investors in real estate acquisition structuring. Ms Romppainen is also a well-known and frequent lecturer on issues related to taxation, corporate law, and change of generation.
In 2014, Ms. Romppainend was offered the opportunity to work for a fixed-term as a judge in the Eastern Finland Administrative Court dealing with tax matters, a position she held from October 2014 through March of 2015. Prior to re-joining Castren in 2008 (she had previously worked there as a Specialist Counsel, Tax from 2002-2005), Leena was a Tax Adviser with the Federation of Finnish Enterprises.
Ms. Romppainened has also worked at Deloitte & Touche Oy from 1996-2002, OP Bank Group Central Cooperative from 1995–1996, Administrative Courts of Lapland and Uusimaa 1988–1995, and at the Central Tax Board from 1993–1995.
