House Ways and Means Committee Chairman Levin says he expects to bring transfer pricing legislation to the House floor during the lame duck session of Congress in an attempt to crack down on tax avoidance by multinational companies. “We hope very much to consider some specific legislation” regarding outsourcing of jobs, Levin says in a conference call. “This is an issue that has hit home and there will be further efforts during the lame duck,” he says, adding that he hopes that Senate Finance Committee Chairman Baucus will be able to advance anti-outsourcing legislation in the Senate as well.
