Two international practice networks have launched within the transfer pricing operation of IRS, one focused on income shifting inbound and the other focused on income shifting outbound, Transfer Pricing Director Samuel Maruca says. “This became operational just last week,” Maruca tells a luncheon audience at a transfer pricing conference sponsored by Bloomberg BNA and Baker & McKenzie. “What this mechanism is intended to do is to be an intellectual nerve center for our practice, a knowledge base” that will knit together the Advance Pricing and Mutual Agreement (APMA) Program, the Transfer Pricing Practice, International Business Compliance, Associate Chief Counsel (International), and field counsel, he says.
