Sept. 9—The first daily minimum wage in Myanmar of 3,600 kyats ($2.80) for an eight hour work day across all sectors and industries took effect Sept. 1.

The minimum wage applies to all workers except for those that work for a employer with less than 15 employees.

The National Minimum Wage Committee announced the approval of the proposed minimum wage Aug. 28.
