Niklas J.R.M. Schmidt is head of Wolf Theiss’ firm-wide Tax Practice Group. He is admitted as both a lawyer and as a tax adviser. Before joining the firm, Niklas worked for several years at a "Big Four" accounting firm and as a research assistant in the tax law department at the University of Vienna. His publications include various books and articles in international tax journals.
Niklas is frequently engaged as a speaker at tax conferences and has been a visiting lecturer at various universities. Currently, he is a member of the examination commission for the "Certified Financial Planner" exam in Austria, and he sits on the editorial board of the "taxlex" and "SteuerExpress" magazines. Furthermore, Niklas is a member of the International Fiscal Association, the International Bar Association, the International Tax Planning Association and the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners.
