Updated two times per year, the NLRB Election Statistics report has provided a clear, detailed, and objective assessment of U.S. organizing trends for more than 25 years. The report merges data from the National Labor Relations Board headquarters and all 26 regional office.

Easy-to-read tables and charts tracking five years of NLRB representation petitions and elections, summarize the organizing results by major union, union affiliation, industry, bargaining unit size, state, and region.

In the Year-End Edition, each table shows the total number of elections, union wins and losses, union win rates, number of workers covered, and number of workers successfully organized for each of the past five years. The Mid-Year Edition provides five-year trend data, along with results updated though the first half of the current calendar year.

Additional statistics include complete decertification election tables, yearly comparisons of elections to petitions filed, and a snapshot of union successes depending on their states’ right-to-work status.

This report can be used to determine the hottest and coldest industries for union organizing, the states where unions have the most and least success, trends in organizing for the most active unions, and union win rates for representation and decertification elections.
