Patrick Van Tiflin

Partner & Chair of the SALT Practice Group

Mr. Van Tiflin is a partner in the Litigation Department and Chair of the SALT Practice Group at Honigman Miller Schwartz and Cohn LLP. His practice concentrates on the Michigan Corporate Income Tax (CIT), Michigan Business Tax (MBT), Single Business Tax (SBT), sales tax, use tax, insurance company and retaliatory tax, investment incentives and tax savings. He has served as the Chairman of the State and Local Tax (SALT) Committee of the State Bar of Michigan.
Mr. Van Tiflin frequently Lectures on state tax issues at conferences sponsored by New York University, Georgetown University Law Center, Council on State Taxation, Tax Executives Institute, State Bar of Michigan, Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants, Chicago Tax Club, State Bar of Florida, Ohio Chamber of Commerce, the Deloitte Center for Multistate Taxation and Interstate Tax Corporation. He has published numerous articles in major tax publications including Bloomberg BNA Tax Management Multistate Tax Report; Journal of Multistate Taxation; RIA's State & Local Taxes Weekly; CCH's State Tax Review, State Income Tax Alert and Sales Tax and Use Tax Alert; Michigan Tax Lawyer; and Michigan Bar Journal.
