House Speaker Pelosi says the House will immediately consider a Senate-passed small business lending and tax incentives bill (H.R. 5297), despite the bill's numerous differences with a measure the House passed in June. Pelosi's comments come after the Senate votes 61-38 to pass the legislation, sending it back to the House. Both measures include a $30 billion lending pool for small community banks, but on the tax front, the Senate version contains $12 billion in incentives, compared with $3.6 billion in the House. “As soon as we get the bill, we will take it up,” Pelosi says.
