DESCRIPTION

Taxes. It is all about taxes. Certainly the $5 million estate tax exclusion and the annual gift tax exclusion create various tax benefits, but those benefits tend to be realized by the client’s family and offer limited enjoyment by the client. PPLI, on the other hand, is the most tax efficient strategy for a client’s investment portfolio and can provide significantly greater tax adjusted retirement income. The three legs of the PPLI planning include:

• Tax‐free growth of invested assets
• Tax‐free distributions
• Tax‐free death benefit

PPLI is a time‐tested and authoritatively supported solution to growing investments in not only a tax‐mitigated environment but, if structured properly, in a tax‐free environment through the death of the insured at which time the death benefit is income tax free (and potentially estate tax free) to the beneficiaries. Incorporating PPLI planning will allow the practitioner to be proactive in the tax management of a client’s investment portfolio. By doing so, the practitioner will not only enhance the client’s ability to create future sources of income and cash flow but simultaneously provide a mechanism to leverage assets and move assets to future generations in a tax‐preferred manner.

Educational Objectives:
• A brief description of truly no‐load private placement insurance
• How to be proactive in the assisting the client and the client’s investment advisor in
• the tax management of the investment portfolio

• Generate future income streams
