Public Citizen on Patrol

Public Citizen coins itself “the people’s voice in the nation’s capital.”

Focusing on consumer issues, the group works with Congress, administrative agencies and the courts to, as they say, “ensure that all citizens are represented in the halls of power.”

Allison Zieve, the group’s director of litigation, talked with Bloomberg BNA about Public Citizen’s activities in one particular hall—or rather chamber—of power: the U.S. Supreme Court.

In part two of a two-part series of podcasts, Allison shares her high court stories, including one of her best moments—a “perfect” amicus brief—and one of her worst—blanking during oral argument.

To listen to the first podcast in the series, in which Allison discusses how her organization’s activities have evolved as corporate defendants have become “increasingly creative” at keeping consumers out of court, take a free trial to U.S. Law Week.
