Roy Berg JD, LLM (US TAX), Director, U.S. Tax Law, Barrister and Solicitor has more than 23 years of experience in cross-border tax matters, IRS controversy, estate planning, and finance. Roy leads the U.S. tax practice group at Moodys Gartner Tax Law LLP and is a prolific author and speaker on Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act (FATCA), IRS tax controversy, regulation, cross-border tax, and estate planning issues.

Roy is a fellow with the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel (ACTEC) and a member of the U.S. and Canadian Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) and American Bar Association tax sections.

Roy actively contributes to the tax profession by his participation on the following boards:

• Member of the Advisory Council to the International Tax Program at New York University School of Law.
• Member of the Consultative Committee to Canada's Office of the Taxpayer Ombudsman , the only U.S. tax lawyer to serve in that capacity.
• Member of the Advisory board to Journal of International Taxation .
• Member of the Advisory board to Canadian Studies program at the University of California, Berkeley

Roy is admitted to practice before the United State Supreme Court, the United States Tax Court, and the bar associations of California, Washington and Alberta, Canada.
