Daniel R. Salemi is Partner at the Chicago office of Morgan Lewis. He counsels clients on the full range of issues related to retirement plans, health and welfare plans, plan investments (under ERISA and individual state laws), and deferred and equity-based compensation arrangements, helping them design and maintain state-of-the-art benefit plans to achieve unique operational goals. He represents employers and plan sponsors across the United States in various sectors, including private, public, and nonprofit companies and organizations. He also represents employer associations, multiemployer funds, and public benefit plans, and his experience includes advising on the unique benefits and labor law issues these types of clients face. He frequently speaks on employee benefit plan compliance issues and has presented to the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans, the Worldwide Employee Benefits Network, the American Bar Association, the National Association of College and University Attorneys, and the Illinois Association of School Boards, among others. Before joining Morgan Lewis, he was a partner in and co-chair of the employee benefits practice of a boutique labor and employment law firm in Chicago. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Dayton and a Juris Doctor from the University of Notre Dame Law School. He is admitted to the Illinois bar and to the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.
