Sales Tax Slice: Pros and Cons of Sales Tax Holidays Weighed on Bloomberg Radio and SiriusXM Radio


The waning days of summer are marked by back-to-school shopping and sales tax holidays. 

Recently, Bloomberg Radio and SiriusXM Radio interviewed Ryan Voorhees, a State Tax Law Editor at Bloomberg BNA, who discussed the pros and cons of these brief respites from taxation. 

In the interviews, Ryan addressed sales tax holidays’ changing landscape and varying application among the states. He responded to questions about why they exist and how they differ, discussed compliance challenges that businesses face, and commented on policy considerations for and against adopting them.
