Samir has broad experience with more than 30 years in the field of direct taxes, international taxation, transfer pricing, and indirect tax. 

Samir attends to the transfer pricing matters of some of the largest clients, both multinationals as well as large Indian corporates.

Samir has considerable experience advising companies across a wide spectrum of industries, including the Manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, automobile, Financial services, TMT, Consumer business and Energy and resources, in planning and documenting their transfer prices. He has successfully defended several clients in audits and tax controversies conducted by the Indian tax authorities on transfer pricing issues.

Samir also advises clients on alternative dispute resolution mechanisms, e.g. MAP & APA and has participated in one of the first APAs signed at India.

Samir has coauthored numerous publications on transfer pricing law and practice in India for CCH, BNA, and IBFD. He has also contributed several articles on transfer pricing and international taxation to International Tax Review and BNA Tax Management’s Transfer Pricing Report, TP week, as well as other tax journals and financial dailies. Samir has presented various papers on transfer pricing at seminars and conferences. 

Samir has been recognized as a leading transfer pricing adviser from India by the Euromoney Legal Media Group and International Tax Review. He holds regular discussions with the Expert Group on Transfer Pricing/Policy Makers constituted by the Government of India, and liaises with India’s law-making authorities regarding transfer pricing guidelines.
