Senate Majority Leader Reid says the Finance Committee will wait until Tuesday to vote on its health care reform legislation. Although Senate Democrats are anxious to bring a health care bill to the Senate floor, some committee members say they prefer to take the time they need to study CBO's analysis of their bill prior to a final committee vote. House Speaker Pelosi, meanwhile, says she has asked Ways and Means Committee Chairman Rangel to look into using a windfall profits tax on the income of health insurance companies as a different way to help pay for the health care overhaul.
