Smart Code

Smart CodeSM is an improvement on annotated code that uses machine learning to identify sections of court opinions (called “extracts”) that reference a particular code, rule or regulation and then ranks each extract’s discussion of the code on a sliding scale from “weak” to “strong”.  It also offers the ability to search by keyword and to filter by date, jurisdiction, and legal topic.

Smart CodeSM is available for the entirety of the United States Code, U.S. Code of Federal Regulations, Federal Rules of Civil Procedure, Federal Rules of Criminal Procedure, Federal Rules of Evidence, and Federal Rules of Appellate Procedure.  It is also available for codes, administrative codes, and state court rules across all 50 states and the District of Columbia.
