Charles A. (Charlie) Sweet is a partner with Morgan, Lewis & Bockius, LLP, where he serves as the practice development leader of the firm’s structured transactions practice.  His securitization experience encompasses a wide variety of asset classes, including automobile loans and leases, student loans, marketplace loans, and residential mortgages.  Charlie has worked on many innovative transactions and structures, with sponsors ranging from finance arms of Fortune 500 companies to technology-driven emerging growth companies, and he regularly advises clients on the federal laws and regulations affecting asset-backed securities and other structured finance products.

 

Charlie earned his B.A. from Yale University and his J.D. from the University of Texas at Austin School of Law.

 

He is the author of Bloomberg BNA Securities Practice Portfolio Series No. 206, The Federal Securities Law of Asset-Backed Securities..
