Raymond Sweigart is a retired partner from Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman LLP's in the Washington, D.C., and London offices in the litigation department. His practice has focused on dispute avoidance, management, resolution and trial work, including jury trials as well as domestic and international arbitration and mediation. He practices in both the American and English legal systems.

He is co-author of Bloomberg BNA Corporate Practice Portfolio Series No. 87-2nd, Legal Ethics for In-House Corporate Counsel.  This portfolio volume discusses the ethical issues that can arise in a variety of situations that inside counsel commonly must deal with, such as multijurisdictional practice, internal investigations, negotiations, outsourcing and supervising nonlawyers as well as the responsibility of inside counsel to undertake pro bono work. It also discusses indemnification of inside counsel by the corporation and insurance.
