Ricardo A. Anzaldua is Executive Vice President and Senior Legal Advisor to CEO Don Layton of the Federal Home Loan Mortgage Corporation (“Freddie Mac”) and after a transition period is expected to succeed Bill McDavid as Freddie Mac’s General Counsel. He was appointed to this position on May 14, 2018.
From December 2012 to December 2017, Anzaldua served as General Counsel and as Special Advisor to the CEO of MetLife. In that role he led the 1,000+ person team comprising the company’s global legal operations, corporate secretary’s office, corporate ethics and compliance group and government affairs operation. He designed and led the execution of the Company’s one-of-a-kind successful legal challenge of its too-big-to-fail designation under the Dodd-Frank Act.
Anzaldua joined MetLife from The Hartford Financial Services Group, where he was Senior Vice President and Associate General Counsel. There, he led legal support for the two largest operating divisions (commercial and consumer markets) after a three-year tenure serving as Corporate Secretary and leading the legal teams supporting the company’s general corporate functions, including securities and m&a, tax, intellectual property & technology, bankruptcy and real estate. Prior to joining The Hartford, Anzaldua was a partner with Cleary, Gottlieb, Steen & Hamilton LLP in New York. He began his legal career with the firm upon graduation from Harvard Law School in 1990.
Amanda Allen is Team Lead – Regulatory & Compliance on the Content & Analysis team at Bloomberg Law. She develops legal reference content and practical guidance tools across a variety of corporate and transactional topics including corporate compliance and investigations, corporate legal department management, antitrust, and alternative entities. At Bloomberg Law, Amanda volunteers with youth mentoring programs and is a co-chair of the company's LGBTQ+ employee resource group. Amanda received her undergraduate degree in political science from the University of Chicago and her JD from the William S. Richardson School of Law at the University of Hawai'i at Manoa.
Cesca Antonelli was named editor-in-chief of Bloomberg BNA in 2018. She most recently served as a senior executive editor at Bloomberg News, where she was responsible for data visualization, graphics, and visual media.
Antonelli spent 19 years with Bloomberg News as a reporter and editor in five bureaus, and ran teams around the world.At Bloomberg News, Antonelli helped build the company news coverage in the Americas and throughout Europe, the Middle East and Africa. She was Washington bureau chief and managed the company’s global “front page,” Top Worldwide.
Before joining Bloomberg, she was a reporter at business newspapers in San Francisco and Pittsburgh. Antonelli has a bachelor’s degree in journalism and Latin American history from the University of Pittsburgh.

Larry Chattoo is an Associate General Counsel and Senior Vice President with Bank of America, N.A., providing legal counsel to the bank’s Federal Public Policy and State Government Relations divisions. In this role, Larry engages with the bank’s in-house federal and state lobbyists, senior executives, and other internal stakeholders to identify, analyze, and formulate strategic responses to emerging and current international, federal, and state legislative and regulatory issues to ensure Bank of America forms regulatory policy in a robust, coherent, and efficient manner.
Prior to Bank of America, Larry worked as an associate at various law firms. He joined Bank of America in 2010 as an Assistant General Counsel. In 2013, he was selected to become a member of the Legal Department’s senior leadership. He was promoted to Associate General Counsel in 2017. Larry is currently a member of the Legal Department’s Diversity & Inclusion Business Council and Co-Chair of Bank of America’s Military Support & Assistance Group, an internal veterans affinity group consisting of 39 chapters and over 9,000 members across the country. He previously served as Co-Chair of the Legal Department’s Pro Bono Committee. He was nominated as Bank of America’s 2015 Leadership Council on Legal Diversity (“LCLD”) Fellow and selected as a 2016 Rising Star by the Minority Corporate Counsel Association.
Larry currently works in Washington, D.C., and resides in Arlington, VA with his wife and two children.
Taylor Cross specializes in diversity & inclusion in the legal field. Taylor is on the Global Diversity team at Paul Hastings LLP. In her role, she implements impactful firm-wide D&I educational programming, manages the Paul Hastings Affinity Networks and the Women’s Initiative in order to foster a culture of inclusion, and further emboldens the business case for diversity at the firm through various thought leadership projects. Taylor previously supported the Diversity Leadership Committee at Latham & Watkins LLP. She obtained her Bachelor’s Degree from the University of California, Los Angeles where she studied Political Science and Gender Studies.

Nikia Gray serves as the managing partner of the firm's Washington, D.C. office and is a partner in the Intellectual Property Group, devoting most of her practice to district court litigation, particularly high-stakes competitor litigation, in the areas of patent, trademark, copyright, and unfair competition. Nikia also has extensive expertise with administrative proceedings before the United States Patent and Trademark Office, including Inter Partes Review and Post-Grant Review.

Nikia's legal skills are complemented by practical experience gained as a physicist. Robert J. Grey Jr., a senior counsel with Hunton & Williams LLP, Richmond, retired from the active practice of law in March 2016. Robert received his B.S. from Virginia Commonwealth University in 1973 and his law degree from Washington & Lee University in 1976.
From 1978 to 1981, he was an assistant professor at VCU and started his own law firm, Grey & Wesley. In 1982, he was appointed by the Governor to the Virginia Alcoholic Beverage Control Board. He became chair in 1983 and served until 1985, when he joined the law firm of Mays, Valentine, Davenport & Moore (later Troutman Sanders). In 1995 he went to LeClair Ryan and became affiliated with the McCammon Mediation Group Ltd. He joined Hunton & Williams in 2002. From 1998 to 2002 he served as chair of the ABA’s House of Delegates and was the first African American to be an officer of the Association. He was elected President of the ABA in 2004, the second African American to hold the position. In 2009, Mr. Grey was appointed by President Obama, and confirmed by the Senate, to serve on the Board of the Legal Services Corporation. In 2012, Robert was elected President of Leadership Council on Legal Diversity. Mr. Grey’s previous community service includes the chairmanship of the Greater Richmond Chamber of Commerce and membership on the board of visitors of Virginia Polytechnic Institute State University, the board of trustees at W&L, and the board of visitors at St. Catherine’s School. Mr. Grey lives in Richmond.
Susan Hackett is the CEO of Legal Executive Leadership, LLC, which she founded in 2011 after serving for 22 years as the Senior Vice President and General Counsel of the Association of Corporate Counsel (ACC) in Washington, DC.
Susan specializes in helping law departments (and the law firms and other legal service providers who support them) re-think and re-engineer the way they work. She helps her clients leverage business, management, change, and technology practices to both deliver measurable results, as well as rise to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to advance their companies’ strategic goals.
Her practice includes: strategic planning, establishing metrics and continuous improvement processes, benchmarking leading knowledge practices, assessing staffing options in-house and improving outside counsel value and pricing, evaluating technology and data options, re-engineering legal operations and service delivery, and more. In short, she helps corporate legal teams change: creating a bridge from the way they used to work, to establishing the practices that will help them succeed and drive distinguishing client value in the future.
Professor Hawkins teaches courses in Constitutional Law, Employment Law and an original seminar on Diversity and the Law. Her scholarship focuses on the intersection of law and diversity and has been published in the Michigan Journal of Race and Law, Fordham Law Review, the University of Pennsylvania Journal of Constitutional Law and the Columbia Journal of Race and Law, among others. She is a recognized expert on employment law and diversity and has been interviewed or quoted in various news outlets, including the Washington Post, Bloomberg News, Courier Post, Law 360 and Philadelphia Magazine. Professor Hawkins was the 2018 Co-Professor of the Year and has twice been recognized by her students as new Full-Time Professor of the Year (2011 and 2013). She was the recipient of the 2018 Derrick A. Bell Award from the AALS Minority Group Section and the 2017 Banks-Haddon Junior Faculty Award from the Mid-Atlantic People of Color Conference.
Prior to law teaching, Professor Hawkins spent more than a decade in private practice advising clients in both the public and private sector on the development and implementation of legally defensible diversity policies and programs. She served as Special Diversity Counsel to Holland & Knight, LLP and was the first Diversity Director for Ballard Spahr, LLP. She has held or holds a number of professional and civic appointments, including as a member of the New Jersey Supreme Court Committee on Minority Concerns, as an Advisory Board Member of the Public Interest Law Center, as an inaugural member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association Diversity Team, and as a member of the Board of the Philadelphia Diversity Law Group. Professor Hawkins earned her B.A. from the University of Virginia and her J.D. from the Georgetown University Law Center.

Prior to joining Bloomberg BNA, Tanjima litigated civil matters in Washington, D.C. Tanjima earned her J.D. from American University, Washington College of Law and her B.A. from Bryn Mawr College.
Audrey Jean, Corporate Counsel & Director, Bloomberg BNA. Audrey has served as senior in-house counsel for Bloomberg BNA since 2014. In this role, she provides legal and strategic counsel and support to all of Bloomberg BNA’s business and operational units. She advises the company on commercial transactions, labor/employment and benefits, IP matters, newsroom/publication and media issues, technology acquisitions, risk/compliance, disputes and web and data privacy issues including GDPR compliance.
Previously, Audrey was in-house counsel at Discovery Communications for seven years, where she focused on content distribution agreements in cable television as well as online K-12 learning. Prior to that, Audrey practiced corporate law for five years at two AMLAW 100 law firms, working on various domestic and international mergers and acquisitions, financing and other commercial transactions across a broad range of industries.
Audrey has a B.A. from Princeton University and a J.D. from Georgetown University. Audrey is an active member of the National Asian Pacific American Bar Association, serving on the Mentoring Committee for the Women’s Leadership Network. Audrey also co-founded and co-chaired the employee resource groups for Asian professionals at Bloomberg BNA and Discovery.
Jean Lee is the President and CEO of the Minority Corporate Counsel Association (MCCA), a national organization focused on hiring, promoting and retaining women and diverse attorneys by providing cutting-edge research, best practices, training and training.
Prior to joining MCCA, Ms. Lee served as Vice President and Assistant General Counsel at JP Morgan Chase & Co. where she worked on consumer litigation and regulatory matters. Before joining JP Morgan Chase & Co. in 2011, Ms. Lee worked on litigation matters at a boutique litigation firm in New York City and started her career as a law clerk to the Honorable John J. Hughes, United States Magistrate Judge (retired), in the District of New Jersey. She graduated from New York University with a B.A. in Politics and Psychology and a M.S.W. in Social Work. Ms. Lee received her J.D. from Rutgers University School of Law, where she was a Senior Editor of the Rutgers Law Record.
Ms. Lee served on Asian American Bar Association of New York’s Board of Directors from 2010 to 2016 and as its President in 2012. In 2014, the Council of Urban Professionals recognized Ms. Lee as a Catalyst: Change Agent | Law and in 2015, she was recognized as a Trailblazer by the Korean American Lawyers Association of Greater New York. Currently, she serves on the Select Committee for the Legends in Law Award for the Burton Foundation.
David F. Levine is the General Counsel of Bloomberg L.P. where he overseas the global legal and compliance functions of the Company. David is also the Executive Sponsor for Bloomberg's Black Professional Community and currently serves on the Board of Directors of the New York City Bar Association's City Bar Fund and Union College's President's Council. Prior to joining Bloomberg, David was a partner in the Corporate and Financial Services department of Willkie Farr & Gallagher LLP, where he counseled clients on a broad range of media and technology-driven transactions. David holds a J.D. from the New York University School of Law, an M.Sc. from the London School of Economics, and B.A. from Union College.
Sona Pancholy, Senior Director of Content Strategy at Bloomberg BNA and in that role specifically works to develop meaningful and impactful programs for our Big Law Business community. Prior to joining Bloomberg BNA, Sona led business development and client relationship efforts at AmLaw 100 and 200 firms across the country. Sona serves on the American Bar Association Law Practice Division’s Professional Development and Marketing boards. Marianela Peralta is General Counsel and Corporate Secretary for Allegis Global Solutions ("AGS"), one of the Allegis Group's five operating companies. Allegis Group is an $14B privately-held global human capital management and staffing company. It is headquartered in Hanover, Maryland with locations and operations around the world.
As group general counsel, Marianela leads and directs the management of all legal matters for AGS in the US, UK, and APAC. Prior to joining Allegis, Marianela was Associate General Counsel at Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. ("Walmart"). Ms. Peralta advised multiple Walmart business units including Global Sourcing, Global Shared Services, Global Business and Processes on international employment matters related to employment and labor compliance, global mobility, corporate issues, business immigration, and workplace policies in the global arena. In her last year at Walmart, Marianela served as counsel to the Office of Diversity.
Before joining Walmart, Ms. Peralta served as Senior Counsel for employment matters at Hilton Worldwide, in McLean, VA. She previously served as a Shareholder in the D.C. office of Littler Mendelson, P.C. and for seven years as an Assistant United States Attorney in the U.S. Attorney's Office for the District of Columbia. Early in her career, Marianela was a law clerk for the Honorable Stephen G. Milliken of the D.C. Superior Court and is a trained mediator.
Karl A. Racine was sworn in as the District of Columbia’s first elected Attorney General on January 2, 2015. Since taking office, Attorney General Racine has built an independent office, implemented data-driven reforms to the juvenile justice system, cracked down on slumlords, and returned millions of dollars to consumers harmed by scams and abusive business practices.
As the District’s top lawyer, Attorney General Racine works to keep residents safe from crime and fraud and uses the law to advance the public interest. He also protects taxpayers by providing legal advice and representation to the Mayor and District government agencies. Through his work as vice president of the bi-partisan National Association of Attorneys General and as co-chair of the Democratic Attorneys General Association, Racine speaks out for D.C. autonomy at the national level and pushes back against federal government policies that harm District residents.
Attorney General Racine draws on over 25 years of legal and leadership experience in his work on behalf of District residents. Over the course of his career, he worked at the D.C. Public Defender Service, where he represented District residents who could not afford a lawyer, served as Associate White House Counsel to President Bill Clinton, and worked on criminal cases and complex civil litigation at private firms. While in private practice, he was elected managing partner of his firm, Venable LLP, and became the first African-American managing partner of a top-100 American law firm.
Craig Silliman is executive vice president – public policy and general counsel, responsible for leading the company’s public policy, legal, regulatory, government affairs and security groups.
Before assuming his current position in January 2015, Silliman was senior vice president for public policy and government affairs, with responsibility for Verizon’s global public policy, federal and state legislative affairs, federal regulatory affairs, strategic alliances, national security, privacy and corporate citizenship.
Prior to that, Silliman served in a number of other senior management roles at Verizon. He was senior vice president and general counsel for Verizon’s wireline consumer, business and wholesale groups globally, and senior vice president and deputy general counsel, with responsibility for antitrust, intellectual property, national security, privacy and strategic product support.
Prior to joining a Verizon predecessor company in 1997, Silliman was an attorney in the international trade practice at Collier, Shannon, Rill & Scott in Washington, D.C. He has also taught international telecommunications regulation as an adjunct professor at the American University School of Law in Washington, D.C.
Leslie T. Thornton is the Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary of WGL Holdings, Inc. (“WGL”) and Washington Gas where she is responsible for developing, coordinating, and providing legal advice and counsel to WGL and all its subsidiaries on matters including, but not limited to, litigation, regulatory affairs, business transactions, employment and labor law, employee benefits, executive compensation, ethics, compliance, cyber-threats/cybersecurity, mergers and acquisitions, and crisis management, among others. At the chairman’s request, Ms. Thornton serves on WGL's Strategy Council, Risk Management Committee, Anti-Fraud Committee, and SOX Management Committee. An NACD Board Leadership Fellow, Ms. Thornton has also served on the board directors of Career Education Corporation for over ten years chairing the Compliance Committee and serving on Nominating & Governance. She was Lead Independent Director from 2011-2013; currently she continues her chair and also sits on the Audit Committee.
