Tanel Molok has been practising law since 2003.

Tanel represents clients in dealings with the tax authorities in both administrative and misdemeanour proceedings, helping to solve a wide range of tax-related issues. He also represents and defends clients' interests in court.

In addition, Tanel advises on tax planning and helps clients seek possibilities to avoid excess tax risks and achieve optimal company restructuring for tax purposes in both domestic and cross-border situations.
In the field of international taxation, Tanel advises clients on issues related to remuneration payable to employees and management board members in different countries, value added tax applicable to cross-border transactions, permanent business establishment and cross-border e-services.

Before joining Sorainen Tanel worked for almost 10 years as chief lawyer at the Estonian Tax and Customs Board, where his main field of work involved resolution of tax disputes, counselling, participating in court proceedings, drafting legislation and preliminary rulings.

Tanel has also participated in intricate tax disputes at all levels of the Estonian court system and as an expert at a hearing at the European Court of Justice. As a member of the leading group of the Estonian Tax and Customs Board, Tanel actively participated in a development aid cooperation programme, counselling the tax administration and the Ministry of Finance of Moldova on questions related to tax reforms.

Long-term involvement with tax disputes and dealing with other taxation issues has enabled Tanel to acquire considerable expertise in all questions relating to taxation and tax proceedings.
