Tom Robinson is President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of AACSB International. Robinson is respected globally across the industry and has a diverse background which spans the private sector, academe, and association management. As President and CEO, he works alongside the Board and global network of staff, members, and volunteers to bridge AACSB’s current and future visioning initiatives. Such initiatives will build upon the strengths of the present, examining AACSB’s role in shaping the future of business and business schools. 

Prior to joining AACSB, Robinson served as Managing Director of the Americas at CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) Institute where he provided leadership to CFA Institute’s largest region—the Americas—including Canada, the US, the Caribbean and Latin America. There he led a cross-functional Americas Engagement Team which participated in the development of global strategy, implementation of global strategy regionally, and engagement with stakeholders regionally. Robinson also served on the leadership team of CFA Institute, where he provided continued support to the Education Division which he previously led. In addition, Robinson was responsible for the Key Stakeholder Services Division, which serviced members and candidates globally, and was co-executive sponsor of CFA Institute’s Future of Finance Initiative. 

Robinson also served as Managing Director of Education globally at CFA Institute, providing vision and leadership for a 100+ member global team—which produced and delivered educational content and programs for candidates, members, other investment professionals and universities. Robinson joined CFA Institute as Head of Educational Content in 2007. 

Prior to joining CFA Institute, Robinson was a tenured accounting faculty member for 14 years at the University of Miami, serving as Director of the Master of Professional Accounting Program and Personal Financial Planning programs. He taught graduate courses in financial statement analysis, personal financial planning, and valuation. 

Prior to joining the University of Miami, Robinson practiced public accounting and financial planning for 10 years, primarily with Deloitte & Touche and Pritchett Dlusky & Saxe in Columbus, Ohio. During his professional and academic careers, he has also served as a consultant and investment advisor to individuals, law firms, accounting firms, professional associations, and governmental agencies in the areas of wealth management, financial statement analysis, and valuation. 

Throughout his academic career, Robinson has won several teaching awards, has published regularly in academic and professional journals, and has authored or co-authored many books. 

Robinson is a CFA charterholder, a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) (Ohio), a Certified Financial Planner® (CFP®), and a Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA). He holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Pennsylvania, and a master's and doctorate from the Weatherhead School of Management at Case Western Reserve University.
