Senior Manager

Victor Diaz Infante Martinez is a Senior Manager with Ernst & Young in New York, a position he has held since 2014 after spending nearly a year as a Senior Manager in EY’s Mexico office. Prior to joining Ernst & Young, Victor was a Tax Law Professor at the Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México (ITAM).

Victor began his law practice as an intern at the firm Tron Abogados, SC in 2004, where he participated in advisory activities and advocacy of natural and legal persons in tax matters; as well as tax planning from the perspective of the Mexican legislation for the implementation of various structures. Likewise, he participated in the design, implementation and monitoring of strategies for legal defense.

By 2008, Victor had become a consultant and litigator for Tron Abogados participating in counseling and legal defense of individuals and corporations in federal, local and international taxation and developed in the area of consulting and planning tax from the perspective of the Mexican legislation for the implementation of various structures, including other transactions involving multiple jurisdictions.

Over the years his practice has had a particular focus on investment and transactions directly or indirectly involving non-residents; transactions carried out abroad by residents of Mexico; mergers and acquisitions, project finance, and international financial transactions. He has also been involved in estate planning  in matters that concern the review, design and implementation of investment structures in Mexico and abroad; civil (including family relationships as well as succession matters) and commercial law aspects related with the creation of national and international structures; and, in general, counseling with respect to business and estate successions.

Victor has also provided legal representation and counseling in federal tax controversies, including: representation before the tax authorities in non-litigious matters, such as, authorizations' requests, private rulings and tax refunds; audit representation and administrative appeals against federal tax authorities; and litigation on federal tax matters before both the Administrative and Constitutional Courts.
