Nov. 17 — In Workflows, Bloomberg BNA brings you the latest in the steady stream of news about law firms and practitioners of labor and employment law.

Attorney R. Mack Babcock, founder of the Babcock Law Firm in Denver, recently was appointed chair of the Workers’ Compensation Committee of the Colorado Trial Lawyers Association. He also has been elected to the board of directors for the Workers’ Injury Law & Advocacy Group .

Two labor and employment lawyers at Barnes & Thornburg have been selected as office managing partners: William A. Nolan in Columbus, Ohio, and Robert W. Sikkel in Grand Rapids, Mich. Peter A. Morse Jr., the administrator of the labor and employment department in Indianapolis, has been named an at-large member of the firm’s management committee.

Cohen & Grigsby has added Casey E. Kuretich and Kelsey J. Kobil as associates in Pittsburgh. Kuretich has joined the firm’s employee benefits and executive compensation group and Kobil will concentrate her practice on litigation and labor and employment.

Gaylan Towle II has joined Crowe & Dunlevy as an associate in the firm’s labor and employment practice group in Oklahoma City.

Hanson Bridgett has added Jerri Kay-Phillips to its labor and employment practice in San Francisco.

Jones Walker has added Michael A. Foley as an associate in the firm’s labor and employment practice group in New Orleans.

Management-side employment and labor law firm Littler has added four associates in Kansas City, Mo.: Alyssa S. Gonnerman, Luke M. Hangge, Kyle A. Kitson and Robert J. Rojas.

Pearson Koutcher Law, a Pennsylvania-based workers’ compensation firm, has added associate Laura M. Brooke to expand the firm’s practice into New Jersey.

Steven A. Rowe, a partner at Poyner Spruill in Raleigh, N.C., has been appointed chair of the employment and labor law practice group at USLAW NETWORK, an international organization of independent law firms.

Schwartz Simon Edelstein & Celso in Whippany, N.J., has promoted two labor and employment lawyers. Counsel Nicholas D. Bliablias has been elevated to partner and associate Carolyn R. Chaudry has been elevated to counsel.

ERISA attorney Adam Meehan has joined Smith & Downey as counsel in Baltimore.

Spencer Fane has added Nikki Hutson as an associate in its labor and employment group in Springfield, Mo.

In Memoriam: J. Hamilton “Jimmie” Stewart III, a founding partner of employment law firm Ogletree, Deakins, Nash, Smoak & Stewart , died Nov. 11 at age 73. Stewart most recently served as counsel to the firm in Greenville, S.C.
